Making NES Games

Hey folks. Right now there's not much to see, but I put up this page to let you know that in the future this will be home to a site about how to make NES games, and also possibly a few things about hacking them too. I'm not sure how detailed it's going to be, but I plan on making it pretty useful. It is going to be a compilation from many sources including experience from my own work on the subject.

Some of the things that I plan to cover here include, but are not limited to:

  1. Making graphics
  2. Writing your first NES program
  3. Mappers
  4. Registers
  5. Instruction Set
  6. Addressing Modes

One subject that I'm not sure that I'm going to cover or not is the process of turning your creations into hardware AKA a cartridge. Mainly because I'm terrible at soldering and I've never made a cart in that fashion, although I have had success in producing a couple flash carts using non-solder methods. Regardless, I still may end up dedicating some information on the subject, such as sources for parts and such.
